Today's Horse Racing Tips
Ayr 16.30
Competitive sprint over the minimum and opting for this one with bet365 offering the extra paying place in this 7 runner.
Going with Tristan Davidson's IRIS DANCER who is a previous winner for us.
Looks a far more solid contender than the early prices might have suggested, and there are several reasons to think she could be primed for a big run in this company. Almost all of her better efforts in recent times have come in smaller-field contests, where she’s been able to dominate from the front, and this race sets up in a very similar fashion.
With little obvious early pace on paper, she could easily find herself dictating again, which is a major plus at this level.
The one slight concern is her record at Ayr, but that needs putting into context. Those previous runs came in higher grades (Class 4 and 5) and on heavy ground, which are very different conditions to what she faces here.
She arrives race-fit and in decent heart, having run a creditable second behind Jo Jo Rabbit at Pontefract in a similar grade before taking on a stronger Class 5 last time out. Back in calmer C6 waters here, and with conditions in her favour, she looks well placed to bounce back.
Her ability to break well and go forward is a key and with Andrew Mullen back doing the steering, (30-8-13) up top, if allowed an uncontested lead, she could prove very hard to peg back, priced with wipes yer face 5/1 and the THREE paying places.
