🏇 Kempton Racing Tips Today – Handicap Preview & Each-Way Selection | 21st October

3 min read

After yesterday's cracking 12/1 winner LORD ABAMA at Newcastle, we're heading south to Kempton Park this evening for another competitive all-weather card, looking to keep the good run going!

Today's Kempton Racing Tips focus on the (19.30) Unibet More Extra Place Races Handicap, a six-furlong Class 5 contest and London Sprint Series Qualifier featuring 12 runners on the Standard/Slow Polytrack.

It's an interesting race with several previous C&D winners, some dropping to potentially attractive handicap marks and others arriving in good recent form.

As always, we've targeted one with a little each-way value away from the obvious market leaders offering us FOUR paying places🎯

BOL if you're making any selections today🍀🤞🐎

Kempton 19.30

HUNDRED CAPS — 7/1 EACH WAY - 4 PAYING PLACES🎯

This looks a competitive six-furlong handicap at Kempton this evening, with Caragio attracting plenty of attention following his recent win here over seven furlongs, while Serenity Dream and Initial Blue both have solid course form.

I also gave serious consideration to Liosa who has attracted support overnight and has been cut from 12/1 into around 9/1. He's a previous course-and-distance winner from today's handicap mark and certainly has claims under Jack Dace. However, his tendency to race off the pace is a concern around Kempton's six furlongs, particularly if those up front are allowed an easy time of things.

With that in mind, we're siding with Julie Camacho's HUNDRED CAPS.

This four-year-old looks to have plenty going for him now he's back on the Polytrack and has been knocking on the door for much of the year. His recent form figures probably don't tell the whole story. He wasn't beaten far when fifth of thirteen at Southwell earlier this month, but it's his last appearance over this C&D that catches the eye.

Back in March, he finished a close second in a stronger Class 4 handicap here, racing from OR79 against opposition averaging the same rating. He returns this evening in Class 5 off OR72, a full 7lb lower, with today's field a significant drop in the standard of opposition compared with the company he's already proved himself competitive against.

He also won over six furlongs at Southwell in January from OR73, so there's genuine winning form to back that up.

Drawn nicely in Trap 4, he should have every opportunity to race closer to the pace, a position from which he's enjoyed plenty of success in the past.

With Initial Blue looking the likely front-runner, we're hoping he can sit handy rather than give the leaders too much rope.

Dylan Hogan, who partnered him to that Southwell victory and the Kempton second, is back in the saddle. He's an experienced pilot who knows the horse well, and that's another positive in a race where getting into a good position early could make all the difference.

Priced with 7/1 with FOUR paying places, we're hoping the return to Kempton, the reduced handicap mark and Dylan Hogan's experience can see him go very close.🐎🍀
