Today's Horse Racing Tips
Epsom 16.40
First up of our two selections is MIRSKY.
Owes followers absolutely nothing after landing the Thirsk Hunt Cup for us earlier this season, and David O'Meara's charge looks capable of making a bold bid to regain this prize having already won the race twelve months ago.
That previous success is a big plus. Epsom's unique undulations, cambers and constantly changing gradients can catch many horses out, but he has already proven he relishes the challenge. In a race where several rivals are tackling the track for the first time, he arrives with course experience around this demanding track.
The market appears to have focused on a disappointing effort at York last time, but that run came in the ultra-competitive Hambleton Handicap, a race that regularly proves stronger than the average handicap.
A strongly-run race should suit his hold-up style and, with plenty of pace on offer, from Jimmy Speaking & Mister Winston, conditions should suit.
Hector Crouch does the steering with a decent tack record and on with 14/1 and the FIVE paying places available.
2nd up is Jack Channons charge HOT CASH.
The four-year-old is another with welcome course form here and arrives here on the back of an excellent effort at Thirsk, finishing second in a competitive thirteen-runner handicap.
That was only his second run of the campaign and came after a decent pipeopener at Newbury, suggesting he is now approaching peak fitness at just the right time.
Last term he landed the valuable Carlisle Bell handicap in similar competitive field. From 3lb above last winning mark, that still looks workable based on that effort at Thirsk LTO, expect a decent tilt at this..
The Channon yard continue to enjoy a productive spell and a strong jockey booking of David Probert, another who goes well here, adds confidence to expect a bold showing and another priced with 14/1 and the FIVE paying places.
