Today's Horse Racing Tips
Nottingham 17.18
The market is understandably focused on the likes of Run This Way and Ishe Worth Agamble, but both are short in the betting and neither offers much from a value perspective.
Opting for Hayley Burton's FANCY DANCER at a nice EW price.
The six-year-old shaped as though badly in need of the run when well beaten on his seasonal reappearance over 7f, but that effort can easily be forgiven. He now drops back to 6f, drops in class, and should strip considerably fitter for that outing.
A similar pattern emerged last season. He was heavily beaten on his first run for Ollie Sangster before taking a sizeable step forward on his second start to score at Wolverhampton. He then built on that success with further wins at Bath and Brighton, winning races that were effectively 6lb stronger than today's contest.
From a handicapping perspective, he now races from a mark 4lb below his last winning rating. Drawn in trap 9, he sits in the favoured higher-drawn group and possesses the prominent running style that has historically performed well in similar Nottingham handicaps.
In a race lacking obvious progressive types and a falling handicap mark, conditions should suit far better today than on his return.
The booking of Jack Callan catches the eye. His claim reduces the load further and leaves him looking well treated on some of last season's form and priced with 16/1 and the FOUR paying places available.
