🏇 Ripon Horse Racing Tips Today – Each-Way Bets | 26 September 2026
🍂 We’re getting towards the business end of the Flat season now, with only a couple more big turf weekends before we turn attention to the All-Weather for the winter.
Today’s headline action comes from Newmarket, where the final day of the Cambridgeshire Meeting features the Royal Lodge, Cheveley Park and Middle Park Stakes before the huge-field Cambridgeshire itself. 👀
Haydock also offers some competitive handicaps, but with heavy ground there we’re happy to leave those alone.
For us, though, the most interesting betting race comes a little further north at Ripon, where the 14:49 Class 4 five-furlong handicap gives us a 15-runner field dominated by exposed older handicappers, with only two three-year-olds in opposition. 🎯🎯
Tomorrow’s racing doesn’t look strong enough for us to force a selection, so after today we’ll sit Sunday out and be back Monday morning looking for the next opportunity. 🍀👀🐎💷🔥

A short quick 5f on a tracke where front runners dominate and often a split to either sides of the track. being the only race of the weekend, we'll aim a couple of darts, one either side of the track to hopefully capture some each-way returns at worst.
First up is Paul Midgley's EMERALD HARMONY.
She was in very good form through June and July, winning at Thirsk before running an excellent second at Doncaster and then third at York, but ast couple of starts have been a bit tardy and clearly needs to get back on track.
Hoever, what catches the eye is that some of her best form has come when she has been ridden much closer to the pace.
David Nolan does the steering again, and he already knows that being positive on her can work — she won from a prominent position at Thirsk and then ran second in stronger Class 3 company when ridden forward at Doncaster.
From trap 3, that could be important for low-drawn horses who can get themselves into the race early, and if Nolan decides to use that draw rather than dropping her out, she could get a very different setup to the one's she has had recently.
Her better summer efforts came from ratings in the 76–78 range, including that Doncaster second in better strength race than this on around 14/1 with FOUR places this morning.
2nd up, from the high side of the draw, is Tim Easterby's EQUITY LAW.
He recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this summer, scoring at Pontefract in June before following up at Thirsk in August. He may have enjoyed the benefit of racing close to the rail for the latter, but there was still plenty to like about the way he put those two victories together.
The hat-trick proved beyond him last time at Doncaster, but that came in a stronger Class 3 from OR81. He drops back into Class 4 today and is 1lb lower from OR80, while earlier this season he had already shown he could compete in stronger company, including a third here at Ripon in a Class 2.
The draw could be particularly important. From trap14, he sits right amongst the strongest concentration of early pace, with Accrual and Rock Of England likely to help take the high numbers into the race.
David Allan is very good when able to get a sprinter into a rhythm close to the pace, and Equity Law has already shown he is comfortable racing prominently or even taking things up himself.
There is no doubt the handicapper has made life harder since those summer wins and he needs another step forward, but today's drop in grade, high draw and likely pace setup all give him a chance of producing it.
Priced around 10/1 with FOUR places, he makes plenty of appeal as our high-drawn each-way play.
