Racing Selections - 9th January 2025

Thursday sees a double-header on the polytrack with meets at Chelmsford CRC and Lingfield Park.

Not many turning out at either venue for these races. However, our last winner Starshiba back out in the (14.33) and wouldn't back against a follow up in this 6 runner.

I noted LTO of his performances in sub-8 runner races where he seems to thrive. Jack Morland has certainly got him firing again100/30 doesn't seem bad for a lumping shot and bang on best winning mark when with David O'Meara.

Going to take a look at one in the hands and heels apprentices at Great Leighs in the (17.30) 🐃

Chelmsford 17.30

Old Peachey C out in this one but don't envisage a nad kicker coming off a wide draw and Miss Poppy Scott up top. 4-0-3 on the polytrack but hasn't raced for ages on this surface. Hopefully one for us when back at Wolves.

Comedian Leader another with a solid winning profile but does prefer the 7f trip so going to opt for Mark Usher's Q TWENTY BOY.

I have in my notes from last year - 'Q Twenty Boy knows how to win and at the age of 9 doesn't shift much in the handicap these days. Chelmsford & Wolves over the 5 and 6f are his boat when the Usher stable are in form'.

Certainly knows how to stick his neck in front and goes particularly well for claimers with last four wins with them up top. Indeed Alicia Perkins has three wins up top with most recent a 5f win here last August.

Not a monster price bought ought to be a bet to nothing with the extra FOURTH paying slot and 6/1 available
