Opening week meetings on the flat from Beverley, Ayr and Windsor.

After a forgettable two weeks will look to get our recovery underway.

Dandy Spirit ran a shocker yesterday and 'another Dandy' we have backed LTO is out today. John Wainwright's Dandy's Angel goes gain in the (20.30) after an encouraging 4th over C&D a couple of weeks back. Too short at 4's where Seahorse Syd could slip the lot of them. However fancy another in that one in the notes below.

A rare threetimer from me today with just one likely from the Musselburgh meet tomorrow.

Just landed in Spain for a 10 day break and hopefully some sun on the back will see my performances 'firming up' on improved going and St Miguel!!

Today's Selections

Beverley 18.30

Lotus Rose does it every now and again and we had her on very easy going when going in.

Certainly likes to blaze a trail and one drawn close by to her who can benefit is Mick & Dave's REFUGE.

Four runs into the season under Lewis Chalkley have seen him dropping the ratings to a lowly 57.

Best run to date for the season was on penultimate run and better going at Ripon. This evening gets it potentially quicker again from a preferred low draw.

Gets Billy Garritty up top and on with 10's and the FOURTH paying place.

Beverley 18.30 - Refuge (Full Stakes Challenge)

Windsor 19.20

Opting for one who has been in the tracker a good while in Tom Ward's CAPOTE'S DREAM.

Missed a good chunk of 2022 when mid 80's rated and from a reduced mark won here over C&D last August.

Started the season well enough here before being tried in higher grade C4's than this, plus on the AW. Goes well in big fields and best form has always been midsummer off the back of a 7-14 day break.

Drops back to a 0-78 grade tonight and should be able to threaten here.

Sean Levey, previous winning form up top, does the steering and on with11's and the FOURTH paying place.

Windsor 19.20 - Capote's Dream (Full Stakes Challenge)

Dandy's Angel a bit short though signs have been he'll be right there. 

Opting for one from my favoured yards who have had it lean for a while but look to be peaking again in Declan Carroll's DR RIO.

After coming in from Paul Midgley has raced around the mile trip and had his mark run down accordingly.

Now 6 below his best performances of 2022 when winning at placing here from this trip.

Should certainly appreciate the switch back to the middle distance.

Zak Wheatley riding with confidence takes another three off and on with 10's and the FOURTH paying place.
