Today's Horse Racing Tips
Hamilton 14.51
Taking the market leaders out am going on 2nd run with one backed earlier this term.
Tristan Davidson's IRIS DANCER Ā is no stranger to us and looks capable of rewarding support once again at a track that has brought out the very best in her over the years.
The eight-year-old arrives here after a series of runs that are easy enough to forgive. She shaped particularly well when finishing second at Pontefract on her seasonal return, staying on strongly up a stiff five furlongs despite conditions not being ideal.
Hopefully that suggests she isn't regressing and her enthusiasm for racing is still very much there. Her latest outing at Carlisle is best viewed through the lens of the testing ground she encountered. The very easy conditions were never likely to suit with best form coming on quicker surfaces.
Hamilton has long been one of her favourite hunting grounds. Her six furlong record stands at an impressive 48-10-22, while last season made all to win here twice from similar marks as today. The stiff finish clearly suits and she has also shown similar effectiveness at Carlisle, another track that places an emphasis on seeing out the trip strongly.
The return to 6fĀ is another major positive. While she ran with credit over 5f at Pontefract, six furlongs remains her optimum distance, boasting a strike-rate in excess of 20% over the trip. From a favourable low draw, she should be able to secure a position just behind the likely pace angle Klepie Grey.
Tom Kiely-Marshall doing the steering, another up coming claimer has her effectively racing from a mark 15lb below her last winning rating that must be significant with her proven record under these conditions.
Priced with 16/1 and the THREE paying places available.
Hamilton 14.51 - Iris Dancer (Full Stakes Challenge)
Wetherby 16.42
This is a wide-open Class 4 handicap where plenty arrive with questions to answer,.
Last years winner, Lady Marika warrants consideration under David Egan, however at a slightly better price opting for STRATOCRACY who makes the most appeal from an each-way perspective with bookmakers paying the extra slots.
Kevin Frost's gelding had a decent seasonal reappearance when finishing sixth in a hugely competitive York handicap. That race was considerably stronger than this and, despite being beaten, he was far from disgraced in a 22 runner.
The stable continue to operate in excellent form, 10-3-6 last 14 days, and there are enough indicators to suggest a much bigger run than the market currently expects. His record on fast ground reads particularly well and conditions look set to suit.
The handicapper has left him alone and he now drops into a contest that looks significantly less demanding. A return to Wetherby is another positive. He went from the front LTO here just beaten into 2nd last April so handles the track well enough.
William Pyle knows him well with 2 placed efforts up top priced with 10/1 and the FIVE paying places available.
Wetherby 16.42 - Statocracy (Full Stakes Challenge)
