Today's Horse Racing Tips

Newcastle 18.00

A lumping priced favourite with Kevin Ryan's Lord Capulet going on a three-timer.

There's a couple backed this term with Wyvern and Pallas Lord.

The former is one always likely to find it tougher as a hold up, so will opt for Don Whillans charge on 3rd run for us.

PALLAS LORD has placed twice in those so hopefully can open his account for the season

Don Whillans charge has been unfortunate to come up against the improving types Aisling Oscar on a couple of occasions, and Dream Illusion who also followed up last week.

Nonetheless has been going well running that one close and slipped to 3lb below last winning mark in the meantime.

Doesn't have to force the pace today with unexposed Bullington Bry lining up.

True Promise heads the market an a 'nearly type' The ex-Kevin Ryan charge seems to keep finding one better despite a falling mark. Smacks of not wanting to put his noes in front and one to take on.

Dandy Magic looks a solid wipes yer face sort having won here in a C5 in November off a mark of 70 under this pilot. Creditable runs in grades above means she looks well in back in this grade with Lauren Young's 5lb claim.

At EW prices, it's Our Absent Friends and Hover On The Wind who look to hold the aces to bring off an upset.

The former, despite winning pre-Xmas, seems to show best under Jason Hart, and needs to find 6lb on that win.

Will opt for the 'Midgemeister' charge in HOVER ON THE WIND.

More at home on the turf uphill tracks was a comfortable winner from Ganesha back in December. Was headed before showing a good attitude to battle back. Previous win was another hill track at Beverley off his similar turf mark.

Gets a decent high draw and i's another one for Barry McHugh and priced with 12/1 and the FOUR paying places this morning.
