Beverley Horse Racing Tips Today – Each-Way Bets | 16 September 2026
🏇 Wednesday’s turf action comes from Sandown, Beverley and Yarmouth, with everything from Listed company to the sort of competitive handicaps we prefer to get stuck into.
Sandown stages the Listed Fortune Stakes over a mile, while the John Musker Stakes is the feature at Yarmouth.
However, our attention will again be on the older handicappers for some each-way value over in Yorkshire 👀
Just the one selection today with Ayr beginning tomorrow 🍀

Beverley 16.18
FIERCE – 14/1 EW, FOUR places, 1/5 odds
There are some obvious dangers here and Brummell sets a pretty solid standard. He is already a Beverley 5f winner, has also won over the stiff 5f at Pontefract and Hamilton and races from a mark we know he can handle. Accrual is another who makes plenty of sense after winning at Thirsk before proving the higher mark was no barrier when third next time. He has enough natural speed to get himself into a good early position, although stall 9 isn't ideal.
Almarada Prince is also difficult to ignore. His recent 6f form is very solid and stall 3 combined with his natural forward style gives him a lovely tactical position and Beverley's stiff 5f should play to his strengths.
At the bigger prices, though, Paul Midgley's FIERCE is the one for the each-way play.
He originally went into the tracker after showing plenty of encouragement following the move to Paul Midgley, having previously regressed for George Moore. The main issue then was getting away cleanly enough, but the ability was clearly still there.
He made the frame on his first three outings this season and there were excuses for the subsequent Newcastle run. More recently, the return to 6f produced a good 2nd at Southwell, suggesting the horse remains in decent heart.
What really interests me tomorrow is his record here having run well over this exact 5f C&D, finishing 3rd, 4th and 4th from marks of 69, 70 and 71. One of those fourths even came from stall 14 while being ridden in his usual held-up style, so although stall 11 isn't something I'd normally be rushing to take over this trip, this particular horse has already shown he can cope with that sort of setup here.
He races tomorrow from OR68, which puts him 1lb below his last winning mark and below the ratings from which he has repeatedly run well at Beverley.
The stiff finish should also help, his better runs suggest that a more demanding minimum trip gives him time to come into the race late.
Jason Hart takes the ride, and at 14/1 with FOUR places I think the price gives us enough compensation for the obvious tactical risk. 🏇💨

I hope you take up the chance to purchase and read the book. It took a while but I thought after 49 years and counting it was about time. You can check it out here HERE or the linked image below
