🏇 Friday’s turf Flat action comes from Ascot, with Newcastle and Wolverhampton both racing on the all-weather.

We’re concentrating on a couple of Ascot racing tips from the 16:10 BetMGM Handicap, a Class 2 sprint over 6f with 18 runners.

A big field, exposed handicappers and a sprinkling of 3yos gives us exactly the sort of setup we like — plenty of pace, draw and current-form evidence to work with, and hopefully a chance to identify some genuine value rather than simply follow the market. 🎯🔥

FANDOM - 14/1 EACH WAY – 5 PLACES, 1/5 odds

There has been plenty of support overnight for Far Above Dream, who has shortened from around 8/1 into 9/2 and is clearly the warm order in the race. He has a strong profile and deserves plenty of respect, but in a competitive 18-runner handicap we are happy to look for something at a much bigger price.

The one we like is Richard Hannon’s FANDOM.

He has put together a very solid season and, importantly, he has already shown that Ascot and this sort of competitive sprint setup suit him. He was a winner at Thirsk in May from OR95, then went on to finish third at Ascot in July and third again here in August, both in strong handicaps.

He also ran well at Windsor and has repeatedly shown that he can hold his own in races around this level.

His latest run is another big positive. He finished a very solid 2nd at Haydock last Saturday from his current sort of mark, which tells us two things: firstly, he remains in good form late in the season, and secondly, he is not relying on old ability or a falling handicap mark, still producing strong performances.

He is proven around his current OR96 having won from OR95, has placed from around OR98–99, and has continued to run competitively in races with solid average ratings.

Also with course form, 6f form, Class 2 experience and enough big-field evidence to suggest this test should not inconvenience him.

He is not expected racing at the fore so he may need the race to unfold properly and for the gaps to come at the right time. reflected in the price.

However, if they do, he has shown he is capable of finishing his races strongly.
