Midweek racing selections come from Thirsk Racecourse this afternoon.

2024 Turf bank stands at -13.2pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 33% win/place rate.

Today's Selections
Thirsk 16.22
A while since we had our last win with him but going with Tim Easterby's MUSIC SOCIETY.
Veteran stage now but has shown encouraging signs on last two outings and now 16 below last winning mark.
We backed him for place money this time last year in the Ayr Gold Cup Trial race (same race as Aberama Gold this week).
That was off a mark of 82 and as it turned out was his best run for the season.
Nonetheless his 5th at York on penultimate race at York was a decent effort in a 0-85. Has gone well here in the past without winning and looks a decent EW tilt.
Sean Kirrane does the steering and there's 10's available and the FOUR paying places this morning. to record.

Yazaman the ex group horse on a roll and a shortie at 13/8. Gets the wrong side of the draw in what promises to be a fast paced affair/.
Looking at past selections, I have had a look at Haveagomecca a couple of times. Did offer promise on penultimate run and Ponty run could be excused off a wide draw.
However, just siding with the 2nd string Midgmeister, J R CAVAGIN.
Looks the one to be doing it off the front and has decent flat track form with wins at Donny and Redcar.
Needs to put a couple of 'misfires' behind him. Tried to anticipate the start at Donny LTO and made a real hash of things.
There's 13/2 available and THREE paying places this morning to record.

Very quiet on here. Gary fighting hard to get us in profit and to get the sunshine boys out of the darkened rooms. Not an easy job on the flat or over the jumps as far as that goes.
Two from Thirsk today. Here is a bit of information. Don't forget this is 2024. When was the last time a going stick was recoreded at Thirsk? MAY. We have had several meetigs since May but no going stick recordings!! No ,they ask one of Mick Easterbys farmer mates to walk the track,stick his heel into the groud in a few places and say 'Aye its decent ground that'.
