Grand National Day at Aintree the racing focus of many today.

However, we'll look to carry on with our early look at the flat with a sole meeting at Yarmouth.

In the last (19.30) was going to look at a sole tracker here who caught the eye early last season.

Special Mayson was out early last season,12.04.23, at Catterick and with high draws hitting the slots, proved the best of those drawn low when 3rd home after getting outpaced early on.

That was from a mark of 66 and whilst running to the mark didn't get his nose in front but did finish the season well with a 2nd home in a Newmarket C5.

Drops in grade from that one on seasonal re-appearance for a stable noted generally among the early winners (17.5 % win/ 54% place for April).

Gets a decent low draw with Shane Kelly doing the steering, however it's one for you lumpers with just 7/2 on offer.

Will look to a sole selection in the (17.30) before we can get stuck in next week with our first scheduled full weeks flat racing 🐎🤣

Yarmouth 17.30

Open looking 5f and Ancient Times should go well in these conditions. Harry Eustace is generally ready for the off and a good record here in the spring.

However, going to opt for the 'regular pilot' of that one, Hayley Turner who opts for Robert Cowell's ANGLE LAND.

He puts two up with SDS on the shorter priced Dubai Station.

Doesn't need to force the pace with Zargun lining up and ours has a good spring record with a Goodwood win last May had him up into the 80's.

Dropped back to past winning marks and signed off last season with a decent effort on the AW from this mark

May just need this race but was 2nd last year on seasonal debut before winning on next outing. Well fancied for this race finished 5th off 81 behind re-opposing Stone Circle.

6lb better off today gets a decent low draw with a general 12's and regulation THREE places to record.
