The opening apprentices looks ripe for one of the lumping priced charges with Tommie Jakes up top of Bernie The Bear and 'Young Archie' on Pallas Lord. Looking at EW chances, we've backed Kodebreaker twice this term for placed efforts. However is 0-4 here.

Newcastle 18.30

Looking past previous winner Kat's Bob going off at a big price. Upped in grade and Cam Hardie don't appeal.

Will look at one no doubt being readied for the turf but who should be capable of a show in C4 in this sphere.

Grant Tuer's ILLUSIONIST has dropped the weights but posted some decent efforts 4-3-3 here early AW season pre-Xmas.

Best early efforts on the turf were 5f but has developed into staying further with a win up the Hamilton stiff finish over this trip.

That included a solid effort in a grade over the 7f, though a tame effort over the same from a far side draw on last go.

Dropping back to the 6f should be around the marks once more. Sam James does the steering and currently 10's across the board with enhanced FOUR paying places to record.
