Today's Horse Racing Tips

Carlisle 19.42

The market sides with last-time-out Haydock winner Trilby and the progressive Qila while veteran Spoof has attracted some EW support thanks to a falling handicap mark and ideal soft-ground conditions.

Parisiac also enters calculations after a recent Hamilton success, but with several proven winners lining up will look elsewhere.

Plenty of pace up front with the likes of The Bell Conductor, Station X and Parisiac to hopefully have one coming from just off the front.

Looking at the EW market, HUNDRED CAPS is the one that appeals most at the prices. Julie Camacho's four-year-old remains relatively lightly raced for a sprinter and, unlike some of his rivals, has already demonstrated a willingness to get his head in front.

Last season he landed a pair of victories at Beverley before adding another success at Southwell in January, proving he can be competitive in handicaps when conditions fall his way. Importantly, those wins came on a stiff finish as here at Carlisle's demanding hill.

His latest effort at Beverley can be marked up slightly. 5th of 7 but just over a length behind Copper Knight, racing in a visor for the first time, he was not disgraced and arguably shaped better than the bare result suggests.

Once obtaining daylight, there was a feeling he still had something left in the locker without being subjected to a particularly hard race. Connections have wasted little time reverting to the cheekpieces that have served him well in the past.

The ground is an unknown with his wins having come on quicker surfaces and the all-weather, however Julie Camacho's runners continue to perform well, while the booking of Kevin Stott immediately catches the eye, 11-4-6 for the yard.

His presence suggests connections are expecting a competitive effort priced with 16/1 and the FOUR paying places with the likes of bet365.
