🏇 Wednesday’s UK turf action comes from Bath and Hamilton.
Two races that immediately stand out for our usual approach. The (15:30) at Bath, a 10-runner 4yo+ sprint over 5f, and the (17.20) at Hamilton, a 4yo+ handicap over 6f.
Tactically, Hamilton may prove the more interesting race because soft ground over that stiff 6f. It's also a slightly better C6 rated at 0-65.
With yesterday's selected going a non-runner, it's two from me for today.
Today's horse racing tips below.
BOL if you're making any selections today🍀🤞🐎

Bath 15.30
SYMBOL OF HOPE – 10/1 EW3 places, 1/5 odds
Recon Mission a solid placer a consideration, and while there is plenty to like about the veteran, having fired in three improving RPRs, and Luke Morris is an interesting booking for Tony Carroll.
Around 8/1 after drifting from shorter overnight prices, he is certainly respected. The problem is that he is now a regressive 10yo with just a couple of wins from more than 50 recent starts, and increasingly looks the type who is more likely to run well than actually get his head in front.
At the prices, I’m going to take a chance instead on Grace Harris trained SYMBOL OF HOPE.
He certainly knows his way around Bath, with a 26-7-12 course record, and while his most recent minimum-trip figures aren’t as strong as his older 5f form, there has been enough life in him this summer to suggest he could still be competitive.
He has been competitive several times here recently and his current mark of 46 leaves him 14lb below his last winning OR of 60.
He has produced several respectable efforts around this sort of race strength rather than simply finishing out the back while the handicapper keeps dropping him.
he's been ridden forward more of late and today’s pace should be through the middle-to-high part of the track. From Trap 10, I’d rather see Callum Hutchinson use that early speed to get a position just behind the leaders rather than burning petrol trying to cross and make every yard.
High-drawn prominent racers have fared much better here than those trying to force the lead outright.
The obvious reservation is the return to 5f. He hasn’t produced a really convincing each-way effort at the minimum trip for some time, but at double digit odds 10/1, we are getting a much better price than the shorter horses at the head of the market
Callum Hutchinson does the steering and with proven Bath form, a workable handicap mark, should give him every chance of getting involved and on with the 10/1 and the THREE paying places (1/5 odds)
⭐Bath 15.30 - Symbol Of Hope (Full Stakes Challenge Bet) ⭐
Hamilton 17.20
LUMENBOURG – 6/1 EW4 places, 1/5 odds
There are a couple of obvious dangers here, not least Iris Dancer, who has done us a favour before and absolutely loves Hamilton. He has plenty going for him again from a mark just below his last winning one, although the soft ground could be a concern with him and at around 4/1 he isn't giving much away.
Impressor has also been well backed overnight and you can see why on old form – he is 11lb below his last winning mark and has plenty of Hamilton form – but he has had chunks taken off his rating without really threatening to win for over a year, and his last two victories came over 5f.
At a slightly better praice that brings me to LUMENBOURG.
He won a Class 6 over 6f in June from a mark of 63, making the running on G/S ground, and was initially pushed up 4lb for it. Since then he has largely been asked to operate in stronger races and on quicker ground, yet has continued to run with credit.
He is back in a Class 6 today from 65, just 2lb above that last winning mark, and this looks a much more suitable assignment.
Hamilton's draw numbers for this setup strongly favour horses racing right up with the pace which looks concentrated through the middle of the field, principally around Iris Dancer in 7 and our selected from 9.
His normal style is up off the front with his better efforts hcoming when allowed to use that early speed that hopefully doesn't become a dust up with Iris Dancer.
Clifford Lee takes over for Julie Camacho, and that's another positive. Lee has a couple of interesting bookings on the card and looks a good fit for a horse whose best chance comes from getting his position right from the outset and on with the 6/1 and the FOUR paying places (1/5 odds)
