Ripon’s “Garden Racecourse” hosts several open handicaps where draw, pace and track position are likely to prove crucial, while Hamilton’s undulating circuit provides another fascinating betting test with a mix of sprint and middle-distance contests. 🌤️

Plenty of each-way angles and competitive handicaps to get stuck into throughout the evening 🍀

Could have done without that 0-9 run having achieved parity this week. However, can't avoid these decent field handicaps that offer the each-way prices we seek.

Today's Horse Racing Tips - Dante Festival & Hamilton

Ripon 16.50

Open looking low grade Class 6 mile and preference would be for one of he four year old's to step up with many looking regressive.

Will opt for one we backed LTO on seasonal debut at Beverley who has shown best form going the right handed way in QUIRKE ON PAROLE.

We sided with him on his seasonal return at Beverley last time out and that run may well have blown away the cobwebs ahead of more suitable opportunities like this. Mark Walford’s runners often improve noticeably for their first outing of the campaign and always worth noting once race fitness is on their side.

The return to Ripon also looks a positive. Tactical speed and early track position are often crucial around here and his profile as a front running sort suggests he could be suited by the sharper nature of the track if able to race prominently and hold a good early position.

His current handicap mark is also beginning to look workable based on some of the stronger form he has shown previously and this doesn’t appear the strongest race on paper. Plenty rivals arrive with patchy profiles or questions to answer.

Jack Garrity doing the steering already has winning form aboard the horse and knows exactly how to deliver him.

For Alex Jary doing the steering, he looks a decent EW shout if ready to roll and the race unfolds in his favour, priced around 18/1 and the FOUR paying places with the bet365.

Open looking 5f with 4's the field and Jordan Electrics at the top of the pile thanks to his strong Hamilton record and recent consistency in similar company.

Ruth Carr's Reigning Profit another for same with place possibilities. However, his Class 3 form flatters a tad with just a win in six runner.

However, at the prices, Mick & Davie's ALPHA MAGIC looks an interesting proposition and could easily be the type to improve past more exposed rivals as a 4yo with relatively low mileage. Still lightly raced compared to many in the field, he has the profile of a horse who may yet have considerably more progression to come as he strengthens physically this season.

There were definite signs of ability in his runs last year and his current mark looks workable if building on those efforts. Hamilton’s stiff uphill finish actually suits a horse who shapes as though he stays further and could easily outrun bigger odds if settling into a good rhythm early.

Billy Garrity rides these northern tracks extremely well and with plenty of contested pace, is effective on horses needing a patient, well-timed ride and on with 12/1 and FOUR paying places.
