😞⚽ After the disappointment of the Three Lions last night, it's back to business on the racecourse with another afternoon of Flat racing to get stuck into. 

Turf action comes from Chepstow, Hamilton and Thirsk before the evening card at Epsom rounds off the day.

While the field sizes remain fairly modest, there are still a few competitive handicaps that look capable of producing some decent betting opportunities. Let's hope the horses can provide a better result than England managed! 🍀🏇 🦁🦁🦁

Today's Horse Racing Tips

Thirsk 16.25

With Tomarlo a worthy favourite after his Wolverhampton success, the market has him about right at the head of the betting.

No value about that one so am looking at two past winners for us, both well versed here to hopefully compete for the places at worst.

Chepstow is one of those tracks where proven course specialists regularly return to form, and both of today's selections have already shown they are particularly effective at this unique 7f circuit.

First up is John O'Shea trained ROMANOVICH.

The race looks set up for him to have a decent passage as opposed to several of his main rivals. With no significant draw bias today, the emphasis switches to race position, and he looks ideally placed to sit just behind the pace before making his challenge turning for home.

His recent races have been run against opposition of a slightly higher standard than today's Class 6 contest, suggesting this represents a slight easing in grade rather than a step up in class.

Chepstow is also a track he clearly enjoys. A previous multiple course-and-distance winner, he has repeatedly shown he can handle the undulations of the home straight.

2nd up is Rod Millman's AJRAD.

Another who performs well under today's conditions and as Romanovich, been competing in races stronger than this for much of the current campaign.

Although his recent form doesn't leap off the page, he's been running with credit against better opposition and now finds himself in a slightly easier assignment.

He's unlikely to enjoy quite as straightforward a tactical position, however, ignore proven course specialists here at your peril.

Lewis Edmunds always a solid looking option when riding for the yard and also priced with 10's and the FOUR paying places.

Hamilton 16.35

One of those three paying place races that bet365 have on offer.

There's plenty of pace about up front with Doon The Glen and A Lady Forever who may look to slug it out.

At wipes yer face prices will take John Riches RAIN CAP to threaten the winners enclosure.

He generally hits form in July & August on the better going . His two runs to date have been in grades rated around 6lb better and young Ethan Tindall retains the ride following a staying on 4th over Catterick's 7f.

Goes on 3rd run for the season dropping back to optimum trip with 5 wins at the distance.

Decent form here and Ponty on the hill tracks and priced with 5/1 with three places.
