🏇 Monday’s UK Flat racing comes from Ayr, Kempton and Windsor, with the evening highlight undoubtedly the 16-runner Fitzdares Sprint Series Final over 6f at Windsor.

From our perspective we'll head north of the border to Ayr, where the (15:45) is a competitive 15-runner Class 6 handicap over 6f, currently on good ground, good to soft in places.  

It looks exactly the sort of bigger-field sprint we have done well with at the track as we look to get the new week off to a winning start🎯

Today's Horse Racing Tips

Ayr 15.45

🏇 — LORD ABAMA EW at 11/2

A real low grade bunch and am taking Michael Dods trained LORD ABAMA at just better than wipes yer face prices.

Has spent his last five starts almost 12lb stronger than today's 52.6 contest, and there have been enough signs that he retains the ability to take advantage of this drop.

Most recently he was fourth in an 62.1 handicap, while earlier in the season he was beaten only 2¼ lengths in a 69.6 Class 5.

The handicapper has continued to relent and he now races from 55, fully 15lb below his last winning mark of 70. Ordinarily I'd be wary of an exposed seven-year-old who has failed to capitalise on a falling mark, but today's circumstances look considerably more favourable.

The draw and likely race shape are particularly persuasive. Lord Abama comes from trap 1, and the favoured low section at Ayr over 6f.

His prominent/front-running style gives him every chance of securing the position at the head of affairs and the challenge should be for the others to get past him, and when we look through the opposition there aren't many with both the current ability and tactical setup to do so.

Water Of Leith has the class to be dangerous but must overcome stall 13 and a hold-up profile. Monastere is improving but is marooned in 15. Sixcor has the draw but is predominantly a 5f horse.

Sean Kirrane takes the ride for Michael Dods, and at 11/2 with four places available, I'm happy that the each-way terms give us sufficient protection while retaining a proper win chance.
