Seven runners going to post and the market has understandably latched on to Mister Sky Blue and Miss Rainbow, but at the current prices I'm happy to take them on with a horse that offers a much better balance between chance and value.
Tim Easterby's BARMYBLADE is one of those runners whose latest effort is easy to overreact to. A disappointing run at Beverley masks the fact that he'd won at Thirsk and finished a close second at Ripon immediately beforehand, proving he's still capable of being very competitive when conditions suit.
He ticks plenty of boxes and his prominent racing style is another positive around Catterick, where being close to the pace is a significant advantage.
Stable jockey David Allan doing the steering, so there's every chance he'll be ridden positively from the outset.
On at around 11/2, the market is asking you to take short prices about horses with their own questions to answer. Ours offers a more appealing each-way proposition and, with THREE places on offer, looks capable of giving us a good run for our money.
