Horse Racing Selections - 5th October 2023

Updated: Oct 6, 2023

Thursday has a sole card from Salisbury on the flat.

Just one decent handicap of note, the Colin Ponting Memorial Handicap Class 4 over 6 furlongs (16.30).

Thoughts below on that one with potentially a day off tomorrow with very little of note at Ascot

Today’s member’s notes are below….

Back in the morning just before 8.30 am.

Salisbury 16.30

A good few of the well fancied types, Katey Kontent & Haymaker, getting adverse high draws here with best form on the far side when the going eases.

Leaves it open for the 3yo Tiriac to exploit that low draw if able under James Doyle as a solid looking lumper.

Look to take that on with Ed Walker’s charge DESERT DOCTOR.

Lightly raced over the last few years won an amateurs over a mile here LTO in a very easy run race. Doesn’t promise to be much quicker today and a half stakes punt to get around the extra paying places

Tom Marquand does the honours and with 12’s and FOUR paying places with 14’s from 365.

Salisbury 16.30 – Desert Doctor (Half Stakes Challenge)
