Marl Loughnane's Zu Run chased home the winner, Wasn't a bad effort off 67 having started the season with a win off 62. However the 4yo was 90's rated as a 2yo with Andrew Balding on the back off opening runs over the 7f at Chelmsford and Kempton. Still some improvement possible for the 5yo 14-2-7 on the AW.

Noble Captain chased home proven C&D winner Asadjumeirah. The former, Katie Scott's charge, whilst not prolific is 21-2-8 on the AW at the track at the trip and worth a 2nd look when priced right. Had some decent form this time last year.

17.45 - BetMGM: It's Showtime Handicap

4YO plus | Class 6 | 1m 5y | Standard | 12 Runners | Allweather

Ben Haslam always has a great track record here and we backed Volenti for 3rd. Three wins off 46, 51 & 56. However, latter two runs didn't run badly on first go off 62 and LTO was dropped to the 7f. Was staying on late that day and suggests today's 8f is the optimum.

Mick's Spirit was a consideration on the morning when we selected The Defiant who ran up 4th. Micks Spirit drifted like a barge to 25's but romped home and a very decent record. 25-7-12 at the track for the 8 time winner over the 5f minimum. Our selected a decent win/place record. Further looking have been though March/July so maybe a tad early with this one.

Kempton

18.00 - Unibet Support Safer Gambling Handicap

4YO plus | Class 5 | 1m | Standard / Slow | 9 Runners | Polytrack

Lunarscape gave us some decent EW money chasing home the warm order favourite Beauty Generation. Mark Loughnane's runner up one to consider again. Has been a mixed bag since coming into the yard form Eve J-H. However, did win a couple late summer and signed off the season with a C&D win here in a similar 0-68. Since tried at 7 and 9f, optimum seems to be 8f and returns to that today after a pipeopener at Wolves LTO. Was denied room in that one turning for home and could well have finished closer. Will hopefully get on the boards soon.

Selection Laura's Breeze ran like a mule after breaking slowly. 10lb lower rated than this time last year should be better than this. The winner hacked up with the 35d home some 6l off the winner. May be Wolves the better option, or juts another Liam Bailey horse to avoid?

Turbo Command ran his best race of the season. recent wins have come post Christmas through to March and now 2lb better off than last win.

Co-operation has dropped to a handy weight and ran up 2nd over the 6f. Not a great deal of AW form, changed hands a few times of late but Mick Appleby gets one 16lb below last turf win. Double booked later this week at Southwell & Wolves.
