A nice winner with Tim Easterby's SNASH coming with a late run to just pip our pacesetting Jean's Maite.

2nd win for us with David Allan on that moose and a nice start to the evening with our split stakes approach.

Today's Selections

Southwell 18.30

Will look to a split stakes scenario in this one.

First up Tim Easterby's SNASH.

Yard have a great record here and bring just two down for this meet. Has been a previous winner for us.

Just 2 over last winning mark 68 where he won at Gosforth from an adverse draw. Not as good NTO from a similar low draw but up in C4.

Back down in C5 is 2 from 2 with David Allan doing the steering.

There's 8's and regulation FOUR paying places for a half stakes bet.

2nd up is on of the two 'Maite's' out this evening.

Roy Bowring's JEAN'S MAITE, albeit a good while since running at the 6f, is nicely priced for a front running blow out and, hopefully get amongst the exra slots.

Rose 10 lb last season but still looked in good nick when put away mid summer after a decent run at Donny from this mark. The blow out at Wolves was from an adverse draw and hopefully strips fitter this evening.

Gets a decent draw and the likely pacesetter has no issues winning here from a high draw.

Lewis Edmonds the regular pilot and plenty of 14's and regulation FOUR paying places with bet365 going 16's.

Southwell 18.30 - Snash (Half Stakes Challenge) - Won advised 8/1

Southwell 18.30 - Jean's Maite (Half Stakes Challenge) - 3rd advised 14/1
