It's a rare early treble ahead of the weekend where it's the same tracks tomorrow. There's an evening card at CCRC. Doncaster's end of season finale, and November Handicap, is re-routed for an early card at Newcastle.

Today's Selections

Chelmsford 13.20

Moose grade Class 6 with a sole tracker going of consideration.

Been a good while since Araifjan won, albeit consistent in grade from around this rating. Whilst Langholm, another short priced sort who, is likely to take them along on AW debut.

Both short enough to pass up and opting with Philip Kirby’s FIRCOMBE HALL.

Missed a year through injury but was a noted 3yo when we originally backing Muatadel 2021.

Best form to date have been shown in November/December and excluding his 3 prep runs this term places at around the 50% mark.

Last of his 3 wins was off 53 and now 6 below that. Was well fancied on last run where Hollie Doyle got stuck for room after racing keen enough at the back.

Trainer sends his sole runner down the A1 for this one and gets an able pilot here in Rab Havlin doing the steering.

Currently on at 12’s and regulation 3 paying slots

Chelmsford 13.20 – Fircombe Hall (Half Stakes Challenge)

Will have another look at one we backed for a place LTO in RAMON DI LORIA.

Ewan Whillans charge just faded at the death and lost 2nd at the lien.

Is also one we backed on the run up to Xmas last year for some place money.

April 2022 acquisition for the yard had fired in a few decent RPR’s at Dundalk before coming over. Has won a three times for him including one on the AW.

Runs well up the uphill finishes and gets 6f with this stiff 5f right up his street (4-1-4 here).

Ryan Sexton does the steering with a 3lb claim and decent 13% strike rate here.

There’s plenty of 11/2 with the extra paying FOURTH slot.

Newcastle 17.20 Ramon Di Loria (Half Stakes Challenge)

The Tinkler’s WHATWOULDYOUKNOW has a solid looking profile with 7 wins.

Does tend to do his winning on tonight’s surface profile although did us up like a kipper when winning here on the std/slow.

Alex Jary ran up an encouraging 4th here LTO and tonight back around LWM the headgear goes back on (4-2-4)

Plenty of room here to come from off the pace and drawn high gets a decent chance to do so.

Faye McManoman is the pilot with previous up top and there’s plenty of 10’s around this morning with the extra paying FOURTH slot.
