A winning shortie but Mick Appleby's Straight A may not be the finished article. Won two back to back in November over the trip. Since has run at a mile and up the Gosforth hill. Back here was a running on 3rd off a mark of 69.

Possible one missed with an old tracker Prince Of Bel Lir going in. A tentative look as a maiden and landed first AW win at the 9th attempt. Certainly on a good mark of 62 and rated mid70's 2023 when last winning. All previous wins had come from racing prominently but here bided his time but looked to put the race to bed easily once asked the question.
