Today's Horse Racing Tips

Nottingham 16.00

Don't like opposing Jason Hart on a warm order favourite but Herakles is a tad short and still just that sole turf win in 21 attempts.

Papa Don't Preach another shorty at the top of the market who is still a turf maiden another to oppose.

Will opt for Tim Easterby's ALBEGONE who looks worth an EW snifter at the current odds and looks to have more going for him here than his recent form figures may initially suggest. He has a solid record at Nottingham, a track that clearly seems to suit his style of racing.

Returns here just 1lb lower than when producing a strong second over course and distance last month which showed he still retains plenty of ability when conditions fall right.

Will run a rule on that latest run at Musselburgh which came in a higher-grade contest where the sharper nature of the track and stronger opposition didn’t appear ideal.

Dropping back into calmer Class 6 company today looks much more suitable and gives him a far better opportunity to be competitive again. Nottingham’s long straight should play much more to his strengths than the Musselburgh shute start.

Those runs should see him race fit and nicely priced with Sean Kirrane doing the steering and with 10's and the THREE paying places.

Nottingham 16.00 - Albegone (Full Stakes Challenge)

Leicester 20.25

Adrian Wintle's Yokkell is 24lb below a win for Kevin Foy this time last year and ran well here two weeks back. Nonetheless a bit short and bred for the middle distances may not appreciate the drop back.

At a price Ruth Carr's Star Start another who may prove better over the 10f who accompanies the well fancied earlier runner Fiscal Policy to the track as two of her meeting runners here.

Not usually a Fahey backer but UP THE JAZZ is double declared this week and this looks a ripe opportunity having been racing and placing well in better grades than this.

Although he hasn’t managed to get his head in front since scoring at Wolverhampton late last year, his recent efforts suggest he’s edging back towards form and this looks a realistic opportunity back in Class 6 company.

His latest run at Ripon in a Class 5 handicap reads particularly well in the context of this race. He finished a close second there over a mile, travelling strongly for much of the contest before only finding one too good late on.

He now drops into calmer waters after competing in slightly stronger races for much of the last year. During 2025 he held his own in Class 4 and Class 5 company, producing several solid efforts at tracks such as Ayr, Redcar and Ripon, and his current rating of 65 looks much more workable judged on some of that form.

Leicester could also suit him well. The stiff finish and galloping nature of the track tend to reward horses who travel strongly and stay on late.

David Nolan does the steering and on with better than wipes yer face 6/1 and the THREE paying places.

Leicester 20.25 - Up The Jazz (Full Stakes Challenge)
