Windsor 16.57
Happy to stick with Adie Wintle’s yard here after they delivered for us last night with Dappled Light, and there could be another interesting repeat angle in play with MONSIEUR PATAT attempting to win the same race renewal he landed 12 months ago 👀
He won this contest last year off a mark just 4lb lower than today’s and arrives here after an encouraging seasonal return when third over C&D LTO. Having been off the track six months, he shaped nicely enough, on pipeopener, staying on at the finish, and should have come on for that.
His Windsor record remains particularly solid and he clearly enjoys this turning sprint track. He’s consistently run well here and the return of last year’s winning jockey Finley Marsh only adds further confidence that connections may have targeted this race once again 🤝
There’s also encouragement from his recent Kempton effort over 7f where he kept on well into third, suggesting he retains plenty of ability from his current mark of 63. While he’s not an obvious pace angle and usually comes from slightly off the speed, there does look enough pace on paper to potentially set the race up for something finishing late 🏇
Coincidentally, Adie Wintle’s winner last night also came in the same race renewal as the previous season, so more than happy to chance lightning striking twice ⚡
At just bigger than “wipes yer face” prices he looks a solid each-way play with 6/1 and the FIVE places on offer 👀🟢
Windsor 16.57 - Monsieur Patat (Full Stakes Challenge)
York 17.00
A real wide open Class 4 seven furlong to finish the meeting with David O'Meara's Leadman heading the market at a very short 4's.
With six paying places on offer going to make the case for one on a huge 40's in Mark Walford's IT JUST TAKES TIME.
Whilst maybe not a winner, the place price is very attractive. His yard are noted for early season 7f and milers and this one comes in on the back of three liveners at the 6f. He's likely to be racing near the front in this and hopefully sticks around long enough 👀
This multiple winner has an excellent record over 7f with form figures reading 21-7-12, a very notable strike-rate and place profile in races of this nature.
York’s long straight suits perfectly if they go hard early and he gets the strong pace to aim at that looks likely off Silver Trumpet🌤️🏇
The jockey partnership also catches the eye with Jack Garritty figures of 31-7-17, up top. He also races here from 1lb below his last winning mark when landing a very similar 0-80 Class 4 at Beverley last autumn, so looks clearly weighted to be competitive if reproducing that level of form 📉💰
This looks the type of race where proven 7f handicappers can easily outrun their prices around York. At a big each-way price, he looks a cracking value angle if the race unfolds to suit 🍀🫎
Jack Garritty doing the steering can hopefully give us a share of some of that place money on around 40/1 with SIX places with the likes of bet365.
