Horse Racing Tips by Always Back Winners:- 13th June 2026

🏇 Saturday's turf action offers plenty of competitive racing, from the likes of York & Chester. However those specifically following the four-year-old plus generation it's slim pickings. The majority of the day's handicaps are either open-age contests featuring the younger horses, leaving relatively few opportunities for progressive four-year-olds to strut their stuff.

The standout exceptions come at Bath, where a couple of interesting mile handicaps feature the 4yo+ types we always like to keep onside at this stage of the season.

A poor day with selections yesterday and we need to get back on track instead of yo-yoing around our base starting point!

Hopefully we can kick on approaching our traditional best months as form begins to settle.

Today's Horse Racing Tips

Bath 17.02

Of the market principals, Dappled Light commands obvious respect after rewarding us at a nice price over this course last time out. Proven around Bath and boasting a solid course-and-distance profile, he looks highly likely to give another good account and should be firmly involved in the finish if reproducing that level of form.

However, at a price I am going to take a chance on TIME AFTER TIME in this competitive Bath handicap, with the four-year-old looking capable of leaving his seasonal reappearance well behind him.

Heather Main's charge is sttill lightly raced compared to several of these exposed handicappers and a dual winner last season. Got off the mark at Chepstow in convincing fashion under conditions very similar to those he encounters today.

That success was backed up next time out with another victory, suggesting he was a horse progressing nicely through the ranks before his campaign rather petered out with a disappointing effort at Salisbury in August. Given how well he had been running beforehand, that run is easy enough to forgive.

His return this spring can also be marked up. He stumbled at the start and was never really able to recover, effectively putting his chance to bed before the race had properly developed. With that outing expected to have blown away the cobwebs, it would be no surprise to see significant improvement second time up.

His profile under today's conditions is stronger than the market perhaps appreciates, while the booking of talented claimer Maison Patel, who takes a valuable 5lb off, could prove a significant advantage in a race where small margins often make the difference.

Hopefully can outrun odds of the current 13/2 and the THREE paying places.

Bath 17.02 - Time After Time (Full Stakes Challenge)

Galactic Glow looks the solid lumping option at the head of the market and boasts a profile that suggests he should be firmly involved once again.

Looking at a price I'm happy to take a chance on BRINTON at the bigger odds in pursuit of each-way value.

Regular followers may recall we were on board when he finished third on the all-weather back in January, and we've been waiting patiently for the right opportunity to catch him since.

That opportunity may have arrived here. The five-year-old has since proven his effectiveness on turf, getting his head in front over C&D under Rob Hornby, confirming that Bath's unique undulations hold no fears.

His latest outing at Wolverhampton over nine furlongs can be forgiven. The extra furlong appeared to stretch him and he never really looked comfortable. Hopefully this evenings' return to a mile is a significant positive. It's a trip over which he enjoyed success last season, winning twice early in the campaign.

From a suitable draw and with a pace setup that should allow him to race prominently without being forced into a battle for the lead, he looks capable of getting into a good rhythm around a track that clearly suits.

Trainer Jonathan Portman has a respectable record at Bath and notably sends just the sole runner to the meeting, often a sign connections feel conditions are right to be competitive.
