Today's Horse Racing Tips
Beverley 16.00
Short blast up the stiff 5f hill and looking at the Midgemeister's HOVER ON THE WIND.
Looks to have plenty in his favour returning to Beverley and there are several reasons to think he could be ready to strike again under ideal conditions.
Previous winning form for us under Barry McHugh immediately catches the eye, especially as that success came here at Beverley around this time last year in stronger company and from a higher mark than he races off today.
He clearly enjoys the track and looks the type who performs best when able to travel prominently and use his stamina late on.
His latest run at Southwell also reads much better than the bare result suggests. Finishing a close third, beaten only half a length, he shaped like the winner for much of the straight before meeting traffic at a crucial stage.
With a clearer run, there’s every chance he would have gone very close to winning that race, so the performance can be marked up considerably.
Returning to the turf, 22-3-8, his current mark looks very workable judged on last season’s form particularly considering he was winning in better races from higher ratings.
