Today's Horse Racing Tips

Catterick 14.30

Open-looking 7f apprentice handicap and there could be a bit more to come from Tracy Waggott’s WITHOUT DELAY following a more encouraging effort a couple of weeks ago.

That latest run at Musselburgh over 7f wasn’t devoid of promise, staying on better than the bare finishing position suggests after appearing slightly outpaced before plugging on late. Back into calmer waters here, this looks a more realistic opportunity and the return to Catterick could prove a positive.

With several rivals arriving with patchy profiles, WITHOUT DELAY has the type of profile that could easily outrun bigger odds if able to secure a more prominent early position. Around Catterick, tactical speed and momentum are important, and horses shuffled too far back can find it difficult to recover ground around the sharp turns.

Lauren Young takes the ride and with bookmakers offering around 18/1 and FOUR places in a race that may not take a huge amount of winning.
